We're very excited to have you here! We hope you enjoy our pro tips on choosing the right vase and keeping your flowers fresh.

Fresh Cut Flowers By R.G.

When you receive your new RG Bouquet you will smell  their pleasant aroma, feel the way they  lift your spirits and watch the way they light up the room. You may  even notice many of our flowers will still be in their budding phase. This allows you to enjoy every bloom from the first until the last and for weeks at a time.

Our Fresh Cut Flower Bouquets come carefully wrapped and include a water pack to keep them healthy during travel time. Carefully unwrap the bouquet and remove all packaging.

“How can I give the best care to my new RG Bouquet?”

Like any guest in your home, first offer them a drink.

Here are 4 Easy Steps to Prep your flowers once you get them home

One

Fill your clean and dry vase 2/3 of the way full with lukewarm water.  This will ensure your flowers don’t get shocked from too cold or warm temperatures.  Add your flower food and give it a stir.  There are sugars in the flower food to feed the flowers and bleach that will slow bacteria and algae growth.

More Tips On How to Choose the Right Vase To Follow

Two

Trim the stems 2-3 cm from the end. You will want to use clean sharp scissors or a knife as dull tools can cause the stems to be crushed and they won’t be able to take in water as easily.  They should be cut on a 45 degree angle.  This keeps the stems from pressing against the bottom of the vase and allows them to uptake as much of the water solution as possible.  You will notice your stem lengths vary for a nice range in flower heights in your floral arrangement.

Three

Place the freshly trimmed flowers in the lukewarm water solution as soon as possible. Leaving the flowers out of water for too long will cause the ends to close again and they will need to be re-cut.  Design Tip: If the flowers are moved from their intended positions during this process you can add one flower after the other in a clockwise motion forming a continual spiral for best results.

Four

Remove any leaves below the water line to keep the water clean. Any foliage or petals left in the water will quickly decompose and create more bacteria in the water.  Any smaller flowers that fall toward the inside of the bouquet during this process should be moved to the outer edges of the vase so you can see them easily.

“How long will my bouquet last?”

With proper care your flowers can last for 1 – 2 Weeks

Longevity Care Tips

  • Keep the flowers out of direct sunlight

  • For the first couple of days just add some fresh water to your water solution.

  • For day 3 onward empty the water, rinse the stems and refill the vase with water every 1-2 days

  • Trim the bottom 2-3 cms of the stems on a 45 degree angle again every 3-4 days

  • The first to blooms will often be the first to fade, simply remove any wilted blooms from the bouquet to keep them looking their best and the water fresh.

Don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers

“How do I choose the right vase?”

You’ll want to select a vase that is half the height of your bouquet. Keep in mind the weight of your bouquet, if it is top heavy you’ll want a wider vase to support it. You’ll want to wash your vase thoroughly prior to each use and allow it to dry naturally.

Vase Care Tip

Allow the vase to dry naturally, it’s a great way to ensure you don’t reintroduce bacteria with a towel

Tall Vases of any shape make excellent centre pieces as well, especially when they are in a large scale room. The stunning arrangements will be seen anywhere in the room and when seated your guests will still have a great view.

Tall arrangements are a gorgeous focal point when displayed against a wall, in entry ways, on buffets and on end tables.

Different settings call for a different aesthetic. Choose a vase that suits your room and the flowers together. In any case when decorating at home for yourself, the best choice for you is always one that speaks to you and brings you the most joy.
